Terms of Use

Terms of Use & Software Licence Terms

Last updated: 22 September 2026

These Terms govern use of the SabahSoft website, SabahSoft software and related services.

By downloading, installing, activating, purchasing or using SabahSoft software, users agree to the Terms applicable to that software.

1. About SabahSoft

SabahSoft develops practical software, apps, utilities and WordPress tools.

Email: sabahsoftapps@gmail.com

2. Software Licences

Unless expressly stated otherwise, SabahSoft software is licensed rather than sold.

Subject to the applicable purchase terms, SabahSoft grants the licence holder a limited, non-exclusive right to install and use the software on the number of devices permitted by the purchased licence.

Purchasing a licence does not transfer ownership of SabahSoft software, source code, branding or other intellectual property.

3. Device Activations

Some SabahSoft software licences may allow activation on a specified number of devices.

A licence permitting activation on multiple devices allows the relevant software to be activated on up to the permitted number of devices, subject to the applicable licence terms.

A multi-device licence does not by itself provide cloud synchronisation or automatic sharing of locally stored user content between devices.

Activation limits may be technically enforced through a licensing system.

4. Permitted Use

Unless a particular product states otherwise, a valid licence may be used for lawful personal or business purposes on authorised devices.

Users may use SabahSoft software to create, process, organise or manage content they own or are otherwise entitled to use.

5. Restrictions

Users must not intentionally:

  • distribute or resell a SabahSoft licence unless expressly permitted;
  • publish or share licence credentials in order to bypass activation limits;
  • circumvent or defeat software licensing controls;
  • distribute unauthorised modified versions while representing them as official SabahSoft software;
  • impersonate SabahSoft;
  • use SabahSoft branding in a misleading manner;
  • interfere with SabahSoft licensing or online services;
  • use SabahSoft services for fraud or unlawful activity.

Nothing in these Terms restricts a right that applicable law does not permit SabahSoft to restrict.

6. User Content

Users retain ownership of content they create, store or process using SabahSoft software.

Using SabahSoft software does not transfer ownership of user notes, images, documents, recordings or other user-created content to SabahSoft.

For locally stored information, users remain responsible for their devices, local files and backups.

7. Local-First Features

Certain SabahSoft products, including Sabah Stash, may be designed around local storage and processing.

Where a function such as Smart Search, OCR or voice transcription is specifically described as local, processing for that function takes place on the user’s device.

This does not mean that every component of the application is guaranteed to function permanently without Internet access.

Internet access may still be used for software downloads, optional components or model packs, licence activation or validation, updates, support resources, external links and other clearly identified online functions.

8. Automated Results

Features such as search, semantic search, OCR, transcription, document extraction or other automated processing may occasionally produce inaccurate or incomplete results.

SabahSoft does not guarantee 100% accuracy of automated output.

Users should review important information before relying on such output.

9. Purchases and Payment Providers

SabahSoft may use third-party payment processors, merchant-of-record services, licensing providers or checkout services.

Transactions processed by a third party may also be subject to that provider’s applicable terms and privacy practices.

Prices, applicable taxes, currencies, licence entitlements and available payment methods will be displayed before a purchase is completed.

10. Refunds and Money-Back Offers

If SabahSoft offers a money-back guarantee or refund policy for a particular product, the applicable duration and conditions will be displayed on the relevant product or checkout page.

Refund processing may be handled by the payment provider or merchant of record used for the original transaction.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Updates

SabahSoft may provide updates to fix bugs, improve compatibility, address security issues, improve performance, modify existing functionality or introduce new features.

Specific paid entitlements remain subject to the licence and product terms under which they were offered.

The existence of a current product does not mean every future product, major version, optional add-on or service involving ongoing external costs will automatically be included with an existing licence.

12. Roadmaps and Planned Features

Product roadmaps, previews and references to upcoming functionality describe current intentions and are not guaranteed release dates or contractual promises unless expressly stated otherwise.

Features and plans may change during development.

13. Beta and Experimental Features

SabahSoft may occasionally provide beta, preview or experimental functionality.

Such functionality may be incomplete, contain errors, change significantly or be discontinued.

Users should not rely on experimental functionality as the sole means of storing or protecting important information.

14. Compatibility

Supported operating systems, hardware and other requirements may change as technology evolves.

Users should check applicable product information before purchasing or installing software.

SabahSoft cannot guarantee indefinite compatibility with obsolete operating systems, hardware or third-party software.

15. Backups and Data Loss

Users are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important information.

Backup, restore and export functions provided by SabahSoft may reduce the risk of data loss but cannot eliminate every possibility of loss resulting from hardware failure, storage corruption, malware, operating-system problems, accidental deletion or other events outside SabahSoft’s reasonable control.

16. Third-Party Components and Services

SabahSoft software may include or interact with open-source libraries, operating-system components and independent third-party services.

Third-party components may be subject to their own licences and terms.

SabahSoft is not responsible for independent services outside its reasonable control, while remaining responsible for its own obligations under applicable law.

17. Intellectual Property

SabahSoft software, product interfaces, original website content, branding, graphics, documentation and other original material are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Except for rights expressly granted under a software licence, SabahSoft retains its applicable intellectual-property rights.

Third-party names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

18. Availability

SabahSoft aims to maintain its website, downloads and licensing services but does not guarantee that every online service will be continuously available without interruption.

Temporary disruption may occur due to maintenance, network outages, third-party failures, security issues or other circumstances.

19. Suspension for Abuse

SabahSoft may suspend access to licensing or related online services where reasonably necessary because of fraud, deliberate licence circumvention, unauthorised licence distribution, serious abuse, security threats or legal requirements.

SabahSoft will seek to distinguish legitimate activation problems from deliberate abuse.

20. Disclaimer

SabahSoft aims to provide reliable software, but no software can be guaranteed to be completely free from defects.

Except where applicable law provides otherwise, SabahSoft does not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted operation;
  • compatibility with every possible computer configuration;
  • completely error-free software;
  • perfect search, OCR or transcription results;
  • that data loss can never occur.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights, warranties or guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SabahSoft will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use SabahSoft software where such liability may lawfully be limited.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

22. Consumer Rights

Users may have mandatory consumer rights under the laws of the country or region in which they live.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict consumer rights that applicable law does not permit SabahSoft to exclude.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.

If a user is a consumer in another country or region, this governing-law provision does not remove mandatory consumer protections that apply to that user under applicable law.

Where a third-party merchant of record or payment provider separately governs a purchase transaction, its applicable transaction terms may also apply to that transaction.

24. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated as SabahSoft products, services, licensing arrangements or legal requirements change.

The latest revision date will be displayed at the top of the page.

Material changes will apply subject to applicable law and any specific rights already granted under an existing purchase.

25. Severability

If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
