Last updated: 22 September 2026

SabahSoft builds software for users in different countries. This Privacy Policy explains what information SabahSoft may collect, how it may be used, when it may be shared, and the choices and rights available to users.

This policy applies to sabahsoft.com, communications with SabahSoft, and SabahSoft software and services where this policy is referenced.

1. Who We Are

SabahSoft develops practical software, apps, utilities and WordPress tools.

Website: sabahsoft.com
Email: sabahsoftapps@gmail.com

2. Information We May Collect

Depending on how you interact with SabahSoft, we may process information including:

  • information you provide when contacting us, such as your name, email address and message;
  • support correspondence and information you voluntarily provide when requesting help;
  • order, purchase or licence information received from payment, licensing or merchant-of-record providers when purchases become available;
  • software licence and activation information;
  • technical information generated through normal website operation, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, requested pages, date and time of access and server logs;
  • diagnostic files, screenshots or other technical information that you intentionally send to SabahSoft for support.

We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

3. Sabah Stash and Your Local Content

Sabah Stash is designed as a local-first application.

Core stash information such as notes, links, images, screenshots, files, documents, voice recordings, collections, tags and related local content is intended to remain on the user’s computer unless the user chooses to export, back up, share or otherwise move that information.

SabahSoft does not require users to upload their stash content to SabahSoft simply to use the application’s normal local storage and local-processing features.

4. Local Processing

Some Sabah Stash features may use optional local components for functions including Smart Search, semantic search, OCR, document text extraction and voice transcription.

Where these features are described as local, processing takes place on the user’s device and does not require stash content to be submitted to OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini or another cloud AI provider.

Local-first does not mean permanently or completely offline.

Internet access may still be used for activities including downloading software, downloading optional local components or model packs, licence activation or validation, checking for or downloading updates, accessing support resources and opening external links selected by the user.

5. How We May Use Information

Information may be used where reasonably necessary to:

  • operate and secure the SabahSoft website;
  • provide software, downloads and related services;
  • administer licences and software activations;
  • respond to questions and support requests;
  • diagnose technical problems;
  • administer purchases or refunds when sales become available;
  • prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised licence use;
  • maintain appropriate transaction and business records;
  • improve our products and support processes;
  • comply with applicable legal obligations;
  • protect SabahSoft, its users and its systems.

Depending on the law that applies, processing may be based on contractual necessity, legitimate interests, legal obligations, consent or another lawful basis.

6. Payments and Licensing Providers

SabahSoft may use third-party payment, merchant-of-record, licensing or e-commerce providers.

These providers may independently process information necessary to complete transactions, collect applicable taxes, manage licences, prevent fraud or provide related services.

SabahSoft may receive information reasonably necessary to administer a purchase or licence, such as customer contact information, product purchased, order identifier, transaction status, licence information, activation entitlement and refund status.

Full payment-card information is generally processed by the relevant payment provider rather than SabahSoft.

Users should review the privacy information presented by the payment or checkout provider when completing a transaction.

7. Licence Activation

Some SabahSoft products may use online licence activation or validation.

Information used for licensing may include a licence identifier, product or licence type, activation status, activation count, software version and technical or installation information reasonably necessary to provide and manage the licence.

A licence that permits activation on multiple devices does not by itself provide cloud synchronisation between those devices.

8. Support and Diagnostics

When users request support, they may choose to provide screenshots, logs, diagnostic information or other information relevant to the problem.

SabahSoft will use information provided for support primarily to investigate and respond to the issue.

The presence of a diagnostics feature in a SabahSoft product does not necessarily mean that diagnostic information is automatically uploaded to SabahSoft.

9. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising Technology

The initial SabahSoft website is intended to operate without Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta/Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers or behavioural advertising technology.

The website may use cookies or similar technologies where necessary for ordinary website operation, security or administrative functions.

If SabahSoft later introduces analytics, advertising technology or other material non-essential tracking, this Privacy Policy will be updated and appropriate notices or consent choices will be introduced where required.

10. Sharing Information

SabahSoft does not sell personal information to advertisers.

Information may be shared where reasonably necessary with service providers involved in services such as:

  • website hosting;
  • payment and e-commerce processing;
  • software licensing;
  • email and communications;
  • support infrastructure;
  • security and fraud prevention;
  • professional services;
  • legal or regulatory compliance.

Information may also be disclosed where required or permitted by applicable law.

11. International Processing

SabahSoft serves users internationally and some service providers may process information in countries other than the user’s own.

Where applicable law imposes requirements on international transfers of personal information, SabahSoft will seek to use appropriate measures for those transfers.

12. Data Retention

Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, including providing products and licences, support, transaction records, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution and applicable legal or accounting obligations.

Different categories of information may therefore have different retention periods.

Local content stored within SabahSoft software on a user’s computer is generally controlled by the user.

13. Security

SabahSoft takes reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information being processed and the risks involved.

However, no website, computer system, network transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users remain responsible for protecting their own devices, operating-system accounts, local files and backups.

14. Privacy Rights

Privacy rights differ between countries and regions.

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights including the ability to:

  • request access to personal information held about them;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion in applicable circumstances;
  • object to or request restriction of certain processing;
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent;
  • request applicable data portability;
  • opt out of direct marketing;
  • complain to an appropriate privacy or data-protection authority.

SabahSoft may need to verify identity before acting on certain requests.

Some information may need to be retained despite a request where retention is required by law or reasonably necessary for transactions, licensing, fraud prevention, disputes or legal claims.

Privacy requests may be sent to sabahsoftapps@gmail.com.

15. Marketing Communications

If SabahSoft introduces newsletters or promotional communications, users will be provided with a practical means of unsubscribing where required.

Transactional communications concerning purchases, licences, software security or support may still be sent where reasonably necessary.

16. Personal Data Breaches

SabahSoft will investigate suspected personal-data breaches involving information under its control and take appropriate action.

Where applicable law requires notification to an authority or affected individuals, SabahSoft will follow the applicable notification requirements.

17. Third-Party Websites and Services

SabahSoft websites and software may contain links to third-party websites or services.

Those third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

SabahSoft is not responsible for third-party services outside its control.

18. Children’s Privacy

SabahSoft products and services are not specifically directed at young children.

If SabahSoft becomes aware that personal information from a child has been processed in circumstances requiring parental or guardian involvement under applicable law, appropriate steps will be taken.

19. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when SabahSoft products, services, providers, practices or legal obligations change.

The latest revision date will appear at the top of this page.
