Core stash content is designed to remain on your Windows PC. Normal local storage, Smart Search, OCR and local transcription do not require you to upload your stash to SabahSoft or a cloud AI provider. Internet access may still be used for licensing, updates, optional model downloads, support resources and external links.
No. Sabah Stash Smart Search can use an optional local semantic-search model that runs on your PC. No OpenAI, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini account is required for this feature.
Smart Search is designed to find related saved information by meaning, including across supported English, Malay and Chinese content. Semantic search is not perfect, however, and very short or cross-language queries may occasionally miss relevant items. Using a few descriptive words usually gives better results.
Many core features and local processing can work without a continuous internet connection, but Sabah Stash should not be described as permanently offline. Internet access may be required for licence activation or validation, software updates, optional local model downloads, support resources and external links.
Local Smart Search, OCR and transcription use optional local components. Keeping them separate from the base installer lets users download only the capabilities they want and keeps unnecessary model files out of the main installation.
No automatic multi-PC stash sync is currently included. A multi-PC licence controls how many Windows PCs may activate the software. It does not mean your stash is automatically synchronized between them.
That depends on the licence tier you purchase. Sabah Stash is planned with 1-PC, 3-PC and 5-PC activation options, with the same product features in every tier.
Keep a current backup or export before uninstalling or making major system changes. Exact uninstall behavior should be checked in the release build.
Yes. Sabah Stash supports readable exports including JSON, CSV and Markdown, with associated attachments preserved where applicable.
Sabah Stash currently indexes supported document content including PDF, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, CSV and HTML. It should not be advertised as indexing unsupported legacy Word, PowerPoint or Excel formats unless support is later confirmed.
Yes, when optional Local OCR has extracted visible text from the screenshot or supported image. OCR searches text inside the image rather than identifying arbitrary objects.
Yes. The optional local transcription add-on can turn recorded voice into searchable text on the PC without requiring cloud transcription.
Sabah Stash currently does not add its own password-based encryption layer to the local database and attachments. Device-level protection such as Windows Device Encryption or BitLocker may protect the computer's storage where available and configured.
